To make an appointment please use the form on the ‘Contact Me’ page sharing some brief details of your request. It’s always helpful for me to know preferred days & times and also your expectations of therapy.
I aim to reply to your initial enquiry within 24 hours. We can discuss availability and negotiate a mutually convenient time for the sessions during the introductory call.
Everything we discuss is held in the strictest confidence. My primary goal is to provide a space where you feel safe to be completely honest. The only exceptions to this are if I believe there is a significant risk of harm to you or someone else that we cannot manage together, or during my regular clinical supervision (where your identity remains protected).
In rare cases, I have a legal duty of care to report concerns regarding the protection of children or vulnerable adults. Should any of these situations arise, my policy is to discuss this with you first whenever possible, ensuring you are part of the process.
This is completely up to you. In my experience, clients often find it beneficial to start weekly and as things begin to feel steadier, you might choose to move to fortnightly or monthly sessions, giving you more time to reflect and notice changes in between.
We can always find a pace that feels right for you.
Payment can be made via BACS and is within 24 hours prior to session. All payment details will be sent via email in the client contract
The client contract is a simple agreement we go through at the start of counselling. It sets out the practical bits, like confidentiality, session times, fees, and cancellations, so everything feels clear and safe from the beginning.
It’s not about rules or pressure, just making sure you know what to expect and feel comfortable with how we’ll work together. You’ll always have a chance to ask questions and take your time with it.
Sessions last between 50 minutes to 1 hour
I offer sessions face to face, online, or over the telephone, whatever feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Some people prefer the connection of being in the room, while others find it easier to talk from their own space or while on the phone.
There’s no right or wrong way to do it, just what feels best for you. We can always talk it through and change it as you go along.
My office is located in Merthyr Tydfil town centre. It’s conveniently located within a five minute walk from the train station and a two minute walk from the bus station. There is also two hour free parking within a five minute walk.
